Responsibilities

Reporting Structure

·        Reporting directly to the Group COO and functionally to the General Counsel of the group.

·        The Company Secretary will have a peer relationship with the incumbent.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

·        Responsible for  leading and setting the direction of the legal department for Singapore and the region such as Malaysia, China and Vietnam and other countries as when acquires new properties or investment.

·        Provide legal services in Mergers & Acquisitions, Project Financing, Dispute Resolution, and Property Development and Management.

·        Supervise external legal counsels in transaction, litigation or arbitration.

·        As a member of the leadership team, contribute to the development and achievement of the business strategy and performance targets for the business.

·        Providing expert legal advice, services and guidance, either directly or through external providers, on all aspects of law, to ensure the business remains compliant at all times.

·        Ensuring the legal aspects of corporate transactions and/or restructuring exercises are managed correctly; up to and including: leading negotiations, co-ordinating the provision of external advice.

·        Managing disputes and issues of litigation to ensure Group / regional/local business interests are protected and potential loss and damages are mitigated

Our client is a large local conglomerate with presence in the real estate industry and is also diversified into other business sectors.  Our client is now seeking to recruit a Head of Legal to be stationed in Singapore with responsibility for all legal matters in the region.
